Matthew 27:50–52 (NIV) ~ “When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.”
This is not the End! It ain’t over! He’s getting up in 3 days!
Every one looks forward to Good Friday and Easter Sunday and what they might wear, what they are going to do, where they might go and if nothing else, it’s a three day weekend! But these things have nothing to do with these days. The next 3 days has everything to do with Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice!
And for some it looks like the skies hang low and the atmosphere becomes quiet by by the weight of what’s about to take place. We can’t wait to give a standing ovation for Jesus victory. But have you forgotten about the darkness that had to take place on Good Friday to bring you light on Easter? Have you ever thought about or talked about all of the lives that began the at the moment that Jesus died? It took a Good Friday to give you hope on Easter Sunday!
Easter is what clarifies Jesus victory and at His victory, you received life! Jesus Christ paid the price for you and it was not cheap, it cost Him his life! Jesus gave you life, eternal life, saving grace and mercy life and it all began on Friday, Good Friday is a good day to say Thank You Jesus and to worship your Lord and Savior, He is worthy to praised!
This is not the end, it’s the beginning! When you can’t see your future clearly and it seems like nothing is moving in your life you are at a halt, be Encouraged! It’s not over! For the Bible tells you, “We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don’t know what to do, we never give up. In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again . . . because we know that God raised the Lord Jesus back to life. And just as God raised Jesus, he will also raise us to life. Then he will bring us into his presence together” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, 14 CEV).
So, you see, you can’t lose! You will win in the end, no matter what is happening. Even when you leave your earthen body and you are no longer physically present, if you believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, and you have accepted Him, then you are going straight into the Presence of God; so you see, your story is just beginning!
The next three days is not an obligation, but it is an opportunity to witness the miracle of your Father being raised from the dead, the most important factor that has ever happened in the world! It is a chance to focus your mind on, and seek to intensify your affections for, the most important and timeless of realities of your life. May God make this day and weekend for one to remember always, may your love for Jesus be greater and grounded and on display for all to see. For you are beholding the ultimate sacrifice of Good Friday, to the death, burial and triumph of Easter Sunday!
Today, may you know and feel the love of Jesus Christ, in a brand new way! One day, you will meet Jesus Christ and you will bear witness to the old things passing away and you will behold a new way. Again, I say this is not the end of the story, you might not know what the future holds, but you do know who holds the future, Jesus Christ!
Let’s Pray:
Father, I Thank You for this Friday, one that I have never seen before and one that I will never see again, but Father I Thank You that it will be one that I will never forget! Father, you gave me the ultimate sacrifice, your love and your life to redeem me from sin and I’m grateful. Father, teach me how to love like You, unconditionally giving of myself, my time, my resources and my love without looking for anything back, but that I do it all for Your Glory! Father, I pray that others will benefit from what I do out of loving You.
Make Ephesians 3:15-19 a part of your prayer today: “For this reason I kneel before the Father, [15] from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. [16] I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, [17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, [18] may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, [19] and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” In the Name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
