1 John 3:16-19 NKJV ~ “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [17] But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? [18] My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. [19] And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.”
It’s easy to know the right thing to say and to do, but it’s another thing all together to actually follow through with it, there becomes a disconnect between us not doing and doing the right thing.
Our verse today says that we shouldn’t just say that we love others for the sake of saying it, I mean it does sound good when we hear someone say they love us, and when we say it to others, but it needs to be followed up with action like Jesus Christ did; not just words, we need actions to go after the words.
Your life should reflect the love of God towards others, don’t just say the right things at the right time and in the right places for others, but live out God’s love in a big way every day because God is love! Whatever you do in word or deed, do it in the Name of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Go back this weekend and study the scriptures from this week and ask God to give you a greater revelation and understanding of what you are supposed to be doing in this season of your life!

Father I love You and the boundless love that You show me every day. You don’t just say You love me in words, but You showed me Your unconditional love by suffering and dying for me and my sins. Father, teach me to love others the way You desire, fill me with Your love that I may daily serve You and others as a reflection of Your love on the inside of me, do it God like only You can, in Jesus Christ Name I pray. Amen!
