Psalm 16:1-2,5-7 AMP ~ “Keep and protect me, O God, for in You I have placed my trust and found refuge. [2] I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good besides You.” [5] The LORD is the portion of my inheritance, my cup [He is all I need]; You support my lot. [6] The [boundary] lines [of the land] have fallen for me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me. [7] I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; Indeed, my heart (mind) instructs me in the night.”
Have you ever been awakened at 3:00 or 4:00 am, in the morning and you couldn’t go back to sleep, it’s like your mind is racing back and forth with thoughts and things that only seem to roll through your head during the middle of the night? Only in the night seasons do you experience this!
What better way to go through your night seasons than with God! For apart from God, you can do nothing! And I mean nothing, you need God for everything, you need Him to breathe so that you can do everything else.
It’s in the night season that God reveals to you what you didn’t see in the day light, and you need those seasons to keep you focused on God’s instructions! The night seasons help you to pay close attention to God’s Word and it teaches you how to apply it to your life! God loves you so much and this is why He wakes you up, He wants some alone time with you, He wants to be close to you and He doesn’t want you to have any distractions that would draw you away from Him, He wants you all for Himself that He might draw close to you and you draw close to Him for everything that you need!
When God allows you to be in a difficult season and you can’t find the solution that you are looking for, it means it’s time for you to give in to God and surrender your whole self to Him for the answers! It’s time to trust and depend on His leading and be assured of His Word as your lifeline! For this is your portion and inheritance!
In your vulnerability at night, God draws your heart to His heart, because you don’t have anywhere else to go, there is nowhere to run, nobody to turn to, nobody to hear you and nothing to distract you, all you got is God! And all you need is God! The lines in your life have fallen in sweet, pleasant places; and your heritage and legacy are beautiful for you to look at! Look at what the Lord has done for you!
God will be instructing you all throughout this day, even up until nighttime, He never takes His eyes or Hands off of you, He is consistent and constant with counseling you, especially at night. Because of His counsel you can trust Him and rest at night! For your inheritance is secure!
Let’s Pray:
Father, Thank You! Thank You for keeping your eyes and hands on me, especially during my night seasons. Father, I trust You in my current night season I’m going to obey, surrender and submit myself to You, for I take refuge in You, for You will give me sweet relief and rest when I have nowhere else to turn too. Father, help me to always turn to You and not to myself or others, and sustain me in Your Word, both day and night, because Can’t Nobody Do Me Like You! In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
