Proverbs 16:1-3 AMP ~ “The plans and reflections of the heart belong to man, But the [wise] answer of the tongue is from the LORD. [2] All the ways of a man are clean and innocent in his own eyes [and he may see nothing wrong with his actions], But the LORD weighs and examines the motives and intents [of the heart and knows the truth]. [3] Commit your works to the LORD [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].”
Yesterday, we studied committing your work to God, so that your thoughts would be established by God! Well today is part 2! What is your reason for doing what you do?
Stop trying to justify your bad actions by claiming they are divinely ordained and given to you by God. God is not the author of confusion or conflict, so if you believe that you prayed and God told you this, this is straight from the enemy, you got played by the devil. Please repent immediately! You cannot rationalize meanness, and division, and say God told you to do this in love! Where is love in this?
When your heart is pure and your motives are right, they will be aligned with what God says. Your actions will be genuine biblical teachings, and when you made/make a mistake, you would know, and you would follow suit and seek God on how to make things right. God has the final say to even the plans you think you made. It’s in doing God’s Will, that you must coordinate your efforts with God’s control.
In much of what you do, God gives you free will to plan and work out the details. He wants you to use your own mind to seek Him and to plan accordingly. Nevertheless, God delivers the final results! In your planning you will seek God’s desires (Philippians 2:13) and He will lead you to acting His way. When you live for Him, you will always ask Him for guidance while you plan and then you will trust Him to act on the plan. You committed your work to Him so that you could be established and successful!
With this being said your heart has to be pure! You need to see things through God’s eyes and not yours, because your vision can be tainted sometimes! And this is how you will know what’s in your heart, you will rationalize and judge others, fault finding, thinking evil is good and the most important one is, you will always try to justify what you are doing, you will always believe that you are right and everyone else is wrong! “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21-23. Try this first, before you put any plan into action, ask yourself these questions: Is this plan in harmony with God’s truth? Is my attitude pleasing to God?
There have been so many ways that you have failed to commit whatever you were doing to God. Like I said yesterday, you can be superficially and can say that what you are doing is for God, when you only have yourself in mind and how you will benefit from it and who will be patting you on the back! Remember, awards come from man and rewards are from God! You have to know that your actions have consequences, and that you cannot use God’s Name to excuse your harmful behavior.
For when you find yourself justifying your wrong choices by claiming they are “God’s Will,” you need to examine your motives and seek to align your actions with what God says and not what you want! If you are here, repent and ask God to transform your mind so that you will no longer conform to the world be transformed by the Word; “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2!
Let’s Pray:
Thank You Father! Thank You for one more opportunity to repent and be transformed by Your Word! Father, help me to discern Your true Will and Ways and to live in accordance with Your teachings. Guide me to recognize when I am using my faith to justify harmful actions and give me the courage to make amends and live righteously for You in all my ways. Father help me to remain true to You when I feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place, for this is when I need your strength, wisdom and guidance. Father, I want to do Your Will and walk in the fruit of the Spirit and in the ways of the Spirit. Father help me to be steadfast and unmovable in the work that I do for You. Give me the power not to turn to other vices but to endure and persevere, especially when I feel pressed, for I know that with You, I may be pressed, but I will not be crushed or abandoned. I Father, give me Your way of loving others, even in the face of the fires all around me. Help me to keep hope that You are carrying me through, because I am committed to You and I have committed everything that I am doing to You so that You can establish me and keep me settled and successful. In Jesus Christ Name. Amen!
Blessings…
Love, Minister Jean
