Good Morning Sunshine! What Would You Do Differently, If Today Was Your Last Day?

Psalm 90:12 ~ “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Life is a fleeting gift, and none of you are promised tomorrow. Yet, you often live as if you have an endless amount of time, putting off what truly matters, holding onto grudges, delaying your purpose, and assuming you will always have another chance. But what if today was your last day? What would you do differently?

Would you love more and forgive faster? Would you tell the people in your life how much they mean to you? Would you finally take that step of faith, pursue the calling God has placed on your heart, or let go of the burdens that have been weighing you down? “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:14!

Jesus lived every day with a purpose and on purpose! He didn’t waste time in bitterness or fear; He focused on fulfilling His mission, loving people, and glorifying the Father. If you knew today was your last, you would likely stop worrying about things that don’t truly matter and focus on the things that do! You would, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:2!

The Bible reminds us that no one knows the day or hour when their time will come. Jesus Himself warned us in Matthew 24:36, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” You are called to be ready at all times, not living in fear, but living in full faith and purpose! If there is someone you need to forgive, don’t wait! If there is love you need to express, don’t hold back! If God has placed a calling on your heart, don’t delay!

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.”, Ecclesiastes 9:10! Instead of focusing on whether your cup is half-full or half-empty, simply thank God that you have a cup. Every moment He gives you is a blessing, an opportunity to glorify Him, love others, and live with gratitude. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”, 1 Thessalonians 5:18!

Whether you are in a season of plenty or a season of struggle, thank God for life itself. Embrace each day as a gift, because one day, it will be your last. Live every day to its fullest. Love deeply, forgive quickly, serve wholeheartedly, and seek God above all else. Because when your final day comes, may you stand before Him knowing that you lived a life with no regrets, fully surrendered to His Will and Purpose!

Food for thought: If today was your last day, what would you do differently? Don’t wait until it’s too late, there will be no more I wish I “woulda, coulda or shoulda”, it will be too late, so start today! Live with purpose! Love without hesitation! And seek God above all else. Because one day, today might be your last. Will you be ready to hear what you confess all the time, Servant Well done!

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank You for the gift of this day. I recognize that life is fragile, and tomorrow is never promised. Teach me to number my days so that I may live with wisdom, purpose, and urgency. Help me to focus on what truly matters and not be distracted by the temporary worries of this world. Father, if today were my last day, I want to know that I lived in a way that honors You. If there is unforgiveness in my heart, help me to release it. If there are words of love and encouragement I need to say, give me the courage to speak to them. If there are steps of faith I have been delaying, help me to move forward in obedience. I don’t want to waste the time You have given me; I want to live every moment for Your Glory. Father, I surrender my plans, my fears, and my distractions to You. Let me not take a single breath for granted. Fill me with a heart that loves unconditionally, forgives freely, and serves joyfully. May my life be a reflection of Your grace and truth. Father, help me to live each day in a way that, if today were my last, I would have no regrets. Father, I pray for those who do not know You yet. If there is someone in my life who needs to hear about Your love, give me boldness to share the Gospel. Let me not put off what is most important. I desire to make the most of every opportunity to serve, to love, and to glorify You. Help me to be content and grateful, whether my cup is overflowing or nearly empty. Thank You, Lord, that I even have a cup, for every breath, every blessing, and every opportunity to live for You. Whether my circumstances are joyful or challenging, let me always have a heart of thanksgiving. Father, Thank You for each and every moment that You have given me. Whether my time on this earth is long or short, let me be found faithful. And when my last day does come, may I step into eternity knowing I lived fully for You. In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Blessings..

Love, Minister Jean
