Good Morning Sunshine! You Are Being Strengthened By The Wind; Not Broken By It!

Matthew 7:25 (KJV) ~ “And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

Jesus teaches that storms are not optional, they are inevitable. The rain will fall, the floods will rise, and the winds will blow. The difference is not in what comes against you, but in what you are built upon. A life founded on the rock does not avoid storms, it endures them. The wind does not determine your outcome; your foundation does. When you are deeply rooted in God, what was meant to shake you will actually strengthen you.

As I began writing the devotional for today, I started wondering again if I had done a devotional on this before. It felt familiar, like something my spirit had already touched, yet something about it felt fresh, deeper, and more revealing. And in that moment, God gently reminded me that His Word does not change, but the understanding of it does. He said that the Bible begins in Genesis and ends in Revelation. The order does not change, ever; the books do not shift, ever; and that the Words remain the same. But yet every time you return to it, something new is revealed. The first time you read it, you understood one thing, but the next time, He revealed Himself in a different way. And as you grow, the Word grows in you.

I begin to realize that God will bring you back to the same place, the same scripture, and the same revelation, not because you missed it, but because there is more in it for you. There are layers to His Word, and every season pulls a different layer out of you. For what you receive now is not what you received before. And just like that, His Word repeats to reveal, and the wind repeats to develop you. The same wind you felt yesterday is still speaking today, but now you can hear it differently. What once sounded like movement now sounds like a melody. What once felt like pressure now feels like purpose.

You cannot ignore the wind anymore, because now you understand that it carries more than movement, it carries sound, rhythm, and divine intention. As you sit in this moment, listen carefully, because the wind is not just blowing, it is making a melody, a tune just for you. It moved through the trees with rhythm and flow, like creation itself was worshiping God too. Now you should be recognizing that what you once called noise is actually a message from your Creator. The rustling of leaves, the bending of branches, the movement through the air, it all carries a sound that points back to the Creator. Psalm 19:1 declares, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” Even the wind has a voice, and today, you are learning how to hear it.

As the wind moved, it did not treat every tree the same, but every tree responded according to its structure. The deeply rooted tree swayed but remained steady. The bare tree stood, but there was no evidence of life responding to the movement. And the uprooted tree had no response at all, it had already lost its connection. Can you see it, the wind is revealing more than strength, it is revealing life. It reveals whether something is still connected to its source. John 15:5 reminds you, “I am the vine, ye are the branches… for without me ye can do nothing.” Without connection, there is no response, no resilience, and no sustaining power. (Oh, to be connected to the source, Jesus!)

There have been seasons in your life where I know that the wind felt overwhelming, where the pressure felt like too much, and where the movement around you felt chaotic instead of purposeful. But now you should see that the wind you heard was never random, but it was intentional, and it was working something within you. Do you understand that just like the trees, you are being shaped by what you experience. The wind is not just something you endure, it is something that develops you and strengthens your internal structure, deepens your roots, and builds your capacity to stand.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength… they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Waiting is not passive, it is positioning. It is allowing God to develop you in ways that you cannot rush or force. You should also realize that the melody of the wind is not always soft. Some moments are gentle, while others are strong and forceful. And just like that, the seasons in your life do not all sound the same. Some have been peaceful, while others have been intense, but all of them have carried purpose.

Job 37:9–10 reminds you that even the winds are under God’s command. Nothing you experience escapes His authority. Every movement, every shift, every moment of pressure passes through His hands before it reaches your life. Now, as you begin to reflect on how the wind causes the trees to bend, and how that bending does not break them, it strengthens them, should encourage you. The flexibility allows them to release pressure instead of holding it and in the same way, God is teaching you how to move with Him instead of resisting what He is doing.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” The wind you feel is not out of season, it is part of your process. It is aligned with what God is producing in you right now. You are also reminded of this, remember that not all trees respond well to the wind. Some have grown in environments without resistance, and when pressure finally comes, they do not have the structure to endure it. And if you are honest, there have been areas in your life where you have avoided the very things that would have strengthened you.

But now, you are being called into a deeper understanding. You are being invited to embrace the process, to lean into what God is doing, and to trust that the wind is not against you, it is working for you. (I can hear Marvin Sapp song, “It’s Working”, the link is at the bottom) Romans 5:3–4 says, “Tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope.” What you go through is producing something within you. It is building layers of strength that cannot be developed any other way.

I want you to take a moment and sit with this, think about the melody that you are hearing again, not just with your ears, but with your spirit. The wind is still moving, still speaking, still developing. It is not chaotic, it is orchestrated. It is not random, but it is intentional. So, instead of resisting the wind, I want you to receive it and allow it to shape you, to stretch you, to strengthen you and to allow it to deepen your roots and build your foundation. And in that place of understanding, ask yourself again, not from fear, but from clarity and alignment. If God came today… would I be standing, rooted, and ready, even in the wind?

Let’s Pray:

Thank You Father! Father, right now in in the Name of Jesus, I come before You with a heart that is open to understanding what You are doing in my life. I acknowledge that there have been times when I misunderstood the wind, when I saw it as opposition instead of recognizing it as development, and today I choose to see it differently. Lord, as You have revealed Your Word to me in new ways, continue to expand my understanding. Let me never become familiar with You to the point that I stop growing. Let every time I encounter You bring new depth, new clarity, and new revelation into my life. God, help me to hear You even in the wind. Just as I heard the melody moving through the trees, tune my spirit to recognize Your voice in every season. Let me not mistake what You are orchestrating for chaos but help me to discern Your hand in every movement of my life. Father, I  surrender my resistance. I release the need to control every outcome, and I choose to trust that what You are allowing is working for my good. Even when I do not understand, I declare that I will remain rooted in You. God, strengthen me, Lord, in the places where I feel weak. Build my internal structure so that I am not easily shaken by what I face. Let every challenge I encounter produce strength, endurance, and deeper faith within me. Holy Spirit, teach me how to bend without breaking. Show me how to release pressure in healthy ways and how to remain flexible while staying grounded in truth. Let me move with You and not against You. Lord, deepen my roots so that I am firmly anchored in You. Let my connection to You become stronger than any circumstance I encounter. When the winds of life begin to blow, remind me that I am secure in You. Father, I lift up every person connected to me. Strengthen them in their seasons of pressure. Let them hear Your voice in the midst of what they are going through. Turn what feels like chaos into clarity, and what feels like pressure into purpose. Lord, I declare that I will not be broken by the wind. I will not be uprooted by pressure. I am being strengthened, developed, and established in You. My life is built on a foundation that cannot be shaken. Father, let my life produce fruit in every season. Let my endurance reflect Your faithfulness. Let my stability be evidence that I am deeply rooted in You. Lord, I want to be found standing, rooted, and ready. Let my life reflect a true connection with You, not just in calm seasons, but in the midst of the wind. In  the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Nugget ~ The same wind you thought was repeating is actually revealing, because as you grow, God lets you hear what you couldn’t hear before.

Blessings…
