Galatians 5:22–23 (ERV) ~ “But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these kinds of things.”
John 15:16 (ERV) ~ “You did not choose me. I chose you. And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in my name.”
In Galatians 5, Paul is speaking to believers who were being pulled between two ways of living; life led by the flesh and life led by the Spirit. They had begun their journey in freedom through Christ, but pressure, influence, and confusion were causing them to drift back into performance-based living. Paul brings clarity by showing that what is produced in your life is not based on effort alone, but on what is governing you internally. He contrasts the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit, making it clear that fruit is not something you manufacture; it is something that grows from connection. The Holy Spirit produces what the flesh cannot sustain.
In John 15, Jesus is preparing His disciples for what is to come. He speaks of abiding, remaining, and being connected to Him as the true vine. He emphasizes that they were chosen to bear fruit that remains, not temporary evidence, but lasting transformation. This reveals a deeper truth; not all fruit is lasting fruit, some fruit is situational, and some fruit is seasonal. But the fruit that comes from being rooted in Christ is enduring, consistent, and sustained beyond circumstances. And God is not just after your visible fruit; He is after fruit that reflects Him and remains when everything else shifts.
As you step into this moment, do you feel the shift in your roots, they are moving to results. Everything you have been processing is being uprooted, being replanted, and remaining under pressure and it all leads to this place where what is within you begins to show through you. (This is your moment to be praising God!) Because what is deeply rooted will always reveal itself in what is produced. Your fruit is not an announcement; it is evidence of what God is doing. It does not need to be declared because it is being seen, experienced, and felt by those around you. And more importantly, it is revealed in the moments when you are not trying, but it is simply responding. Galatians 5:22–23 begins to unfold in a deeper way, when you realize that the fruit of the Spirit is not something you turn on; it is something that flows out of you. It’s love that does not have to be forced. Peace that does not have to be searched for. And patience that remains even when tested.
And now it’s time to examine your own life, not from a place of condemnation, but from a place of awareness. What has been consistently flowing from you? What shows up when you are under pressure, when you are tired, when you are stretched? Because fruit is not revealed in controlled environments, it is revealed in real life ones. Remember the wind again, how it moved through the trees, how it carried that melody, how it revealed what was strong and what was not. And now you should see that the wind was not just testing your roots, it was revealing your fruit. Because one thing is for sure, what’s in you will come out of you. Luke 6:45 says, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Now I want you to understand that your words, your reactions, your responses, they are not random, but they are rooted.
It’s in these moments that what flowed from you did not reflect what you desire. Moments where frustration replaced patience, where anxiety overshadowed peace, where reaction overtook reflection. But instead of seeing those moments as failure, you can now see them as revelation. They are showing you where your roots still need to go deeper, where your connection still needs to be strengthened. John 15 begins to echo again in your spirit; “Your fruit will last.” And that lasting fruit is not built in moments; it is developed over time through consistent connection. Now do you really see the difference between manufactured fruit and produced fruit? Manufactured fruit looks good in moments. It can be turned on when needed, displayed when necessary, and hidden when convenient. But it does not remain. But produced fruit, however, is different. It is not dependent on circumstances. It is not influenced by moods. It flows consistently because it is rooted deeply. And now you begin to desire something different. You no longer want fruit that appears, you want fruit that remains. You want a life that consistently reflects God, not just in public moments, but in private ones.
So today invite God into your inner world; your thoughts, your emotions, your hidden responses and ask Him to transform you from the inside out so that what flows from you is a true reflection of Him. See that fruit is not about perfection, but it is about transformation. It is about allowing God to continually shape you, refine you, and develop His nature within you. And as you remain in Him, something has got to change. Your response slows down. Your reactions shift. Your heart softens. Your peace deepens. Your love becomes more consistent. And you realize that you are not forcing this, but you are becoming this.
Now you should notice that what once triggered you, doesn’t; now there is now a pause, a sacred space where the Holy Spirit leads you instead of your flesh reacting. That pause is evidence that something deeper has taken root within you, something that is governing your responses from a place of alignment instead of impulse. You begin to see that your fruit is not just for you; it is for every environment you step into. The peace you carry shifts atmospheres. The love you release softens hardened places. The patience you display becomes your testimony to someone who is watching you more closely than you realize. And as this awareness settles within you, I hope you understand that your life is now speaking even when your mouth is not. Your fruit is becoming a language; one that reveals your connection, your growth, and your transformation without you ever having to explain it. So, if God came today… what kind of fruit would your life reveal and would it remain?
I hope and pray that you see the fruit in your life growing and maturing, and that you truly understand that fruit is not the final destination; but it is the beginning of multiplication. Your fruit carries seed, and what grows in you is meant to impact what grows through you. And in the next place where God is taking you, you will begin to see that a life that is deeply rooted and consistently fruitful becomes a life that reproduces, multiplies, and leaves a lasting imprint beyond itself.
Let’s Pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You with a heart that desires to produce fruit that reflects You in every area of my life. I acknowledge that there have been moments where what flowed from me did not align with who You are, and today I surrender those areas to You. Lord, I ask that You develop Your nature within me. Let love grow deeper in me. Let peace settle within me. Let patience be established in me. Let every fruit of Your Spirit be evident in my life. Father, I do not want to manufacture fruit; I want to produce fruit that flows from being rooted in You. Let my life reflect true transformation, not temporary behavior. Holy Spirit, work within me daily. Shape my thoughts, align my emotions, and guide my responses so that everything I produce reflects Your presence in me. Lord, when pressure comes, help me to respond from a place of depth. Let what flows from me in difficult moments reveal that I am truly rooted in You. Father, uproot anything within me that is hindering the growth of Your fruit. Remove every mindset, every reaction, and every pattern that does not align with Your nature. Lord, I ask that my life be fruitful in every season. Whether I am in a place of abundance or challenge, let my life continue to produce and Father, let their lives of those I am connected to produce fruit that reflects You too. Father, strengthen them, grow them, and establish them in Your truth. Lord, I declare that my life will not be barren. I will produce fruit that remains. I will reflect Your nature in everything I do. Let my fruit be consistent. Let my growth be evident. Let my life bring You glory. And Father, if You were to come today, let my life reveal fruit that reflects a deep and authentic relationship with You. Father, I choose to be fruitful. I choose to be rooted. I choose to reflect You. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Nugget ~ Real fruit isn’t forced; it flows from a life that is deeply rooted in the right source.
Blessings…
Love, Dr. Jean
