Good Morning Sunshine! Do You Want Some Peace? Just Call Jehovah Shalom, The Lord Of Peace Will Be Right There!

Judges 6:24 (NIV) ~ “So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.”

Peace is not the absence of noise; it’s the presence of God. In Judges 6, Gideon found himself in a cave, hiding from the Midianites, unsure of his strength, his calling, or his future. And yet, in that place of fear and obscurity, the Lord appeared to him and called him mighty warrior. Before Gideon ever touched a sword, before a battle was fought, and before fear left his body, the Lord identified him by his divine potential, not his present paralysis.

It was in this intimate encounter that God revealed a new dimension of His nature, Jehovah Shalom, meaning The Lord Is Peace. Gideon didn’t meet this Name in a palace of calm or a sanctuary of silence. He met it in a war-torn, fear-filled moment. The revelation of peace came not after the battle, but before it, proving that true peace is not tied to circumstance, but to His Presence!

This Name teaches you something sacred: Peace is not found when things settle around you, but when God settles within you. Jehovah Shalom brings a peace that defies logic, transcends emotion, and overrides the noise of the world. It is not something you strive for; it’s someone you surrender to. You don’t have to “find” peace; you need only make room for the One who is Peace.

Shalom is not a fragile calmness that cracks under pressure. It is a divine wholeness, a restoration of what was scattered, a knitting together of soul, spirit, and body. It is harmony with heaven in the midst of earthly disorder. Shalom comes to mend the pieces you’ve lost and to anchor you in the storm. The Name Jehovah Shalom reminds you that you can be held even when you are hurting, kept even when you feel cracked, and centered even when everything around you is shifting!

The peace of God isn’t passive, it’s aggressive. It confronts anxiety. It overtakes fear. It silences torment. It crushes chaos under the weight of His Presence. Jesus didn’t just speak peace to the wind and the waves; He spoke it into hearts. When He said, “Peace, be still,” He wasn’t just calming the water. He was calming the worry (Mark 4:39).

This Name is your inheritance. It belongs to you, not because you’ve earned it, but because He paid for it. Isaiah 53:5 reminds us that “the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” The blood of Jesus didn’t just purchase salvation, it purchased shalom. Every time you declare Jehovah Shalom, you are declaring the victory of the cross over the war in your mind.

When peace feels far away, remember that it is closer than you think, because He is closer than you feel. God doesn’t pace the floor when you’re panicking. He sits enthroned above the storm and invites you to do the same. He says, “Come up higher.” Not to ignore the pain, but to see from His perspective. And this is the beauty of knowing Him as Jehovah Shalom, you learn how to worship in the war, how to rest in the wrestle, and how to breathe deeply even while walking through fire.

Peace is no longer a destination. It becomes your dwelling place. The altar Gideon built was a prophetic marker: Peace had come to stay, not just visit. So, build your own altar today. Not made of stone, but of surrender. Call it Jehovah Shalom. And declare that the Lord your God is peace, even here, even now, even in this.

Let’s Pray:

Father,, Thank You! Thank You for being Jehovah Shalom, I lift my voice to You, not just as the God who gives peace, but as the God who is peace. You are wholeness in my brokenness, calm in my confusion, and strength in my stillness. I thank You that Your presence is my portion and Your peace is my inheritance. In a world of noise, I choose to tune into Your whisper. In a heart prone to worry, I choose to rest in Your Word. Thank You for revealing Yourself to me, not only on the mountain of triumph, but in the cave of uncertainty. You called Gideon a warrior while he was hiding, and You call me victorious even when I feel vulnerable. You never wait until I feel strong to declare Your truth over me. You simply step into the storm and speak peace, be still. I confess, Lord, that I’ve let fear lead too often. I’ve given anxiety too much room in my mind. I’ve allowed circumstances to rob me of joy and chaos to steal my clarity. But today, I evict every intruder of peace from the chambers of my soul. I make space for You, the Prince of Peace, to reign in every corner of my heart. Father, today I’m going to let Your Shalom settle in the places where I’ve been fragmented. Mend what’s torn, silence what’s noisy, restore what’s missing. Speak peace into my body, mind, and emotions. Let my relationships be covered in Your harmony. Let my household be soaked in Your stillness. Let my thoughts be governed by Your Word. And let the loudness of life be overruled by the authority of Your voice. Jehovah Shalom, I surrender my need to control and I rest in Your complete reign. I trust You to lead me gently, protect me thoroughly, and cover me endlessly. Be the peace that holds me when I don’t understand. Be the peace that keeps me when I feel undone. Be the peace that surpasses understanding and guards me in the midnight hour. I declare boldly: Peace is not leaving. Peace is not temporary. Peace is not circumstantial. Peace is a Person, and His Name is Jesus! I welcome You, Jehovah Shalom, to reign in my life, today and forevermore. In the Name of the One who walks on storms and speaks to winds, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

Good Morning Sunshine! When God is your Circle, you will have Peace in the Middle! Let His Presence Surround you, and let His Peace Steady you!

Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) ~ “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

After you have found safety in the refuge of God, He invites you to stay in a place of peace, not just when the storm ends, but while you are still in the middle of it. Peace is not the product of a resolved situation, it is the presence of a resolved spirit! When your heart is anchored in the character of God, peace becomes a shield against anxiety, a covering in uncertainty, and a quiet confidence when life feels loud. In today’s scripture, Isaiah 26:3 reveals a divine exchange: when you keep your mind stayed on Him and choose to trust Him, He gives you perfect peace. That peace is not fragile, fleeting, or circumstantial, it’s complete, mature, and sustaining.

This peace is not tied to the condition of your circumstances; it’s rooted in the consistency of your Savior. The Hebrew word for peace here is shalom; wholeness, completeness, harmony, and well-being. God promises more than a break from pressure; He offers internal rest and spiritual stability, even when pressure surrounds you. Jesus offers this very peace in John 14:27, saying, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” The world gives peace that’s conditional; based on success, money, approval, or resolution. But Jesus gives His peace, a supernatural calm that’s steady in the storm, restful in the unknown, and powerful against fear!

You may not be able to silence every storm around you, but you can silence the storm within you by staying focused on the One who holds the wind in His hands. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God.” Stillness is not inactivity; it is intentional trust. It’s a confident pause in the middle of pressure that says, “I trust You, Lord. I know You’re in control.” Even in the darkest valleys, His peace walks beside you. Psalm 23:4 reminds us, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” Peace is also a guard. Philippians 4:6–7 tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” When God’s peace takes over, it builds a wall of spiritual protection around your mind and emotions. It doesn’t make sense to the world, but it’s the very evidence of God’s presence in you.

So, what does it feel like to have peace in the middle? It feels like a holy stillness that doesn’t make sense to those watching you. It’s the moment when everything should be falling apart, but you’re standing firm, not because you’re strong, but because you’re kept! Peace in the middle doesn’t mean you don’t cry or feel the weight of your circumstances, it means even through your tears, you know God is with you! It’s a quiet confidence that God is fighting battles you can’t see and working miracles you haven’t witnessed yet! Peace in the middle feels like choosing praise when panic wants to rise! It’s lifting your hands in worship while waiting on a diagnosis! It’s continuing to move forward when you’re not sure how it will all work out! It’s the holy hush that settles over your spirit when you remember who your Father is! Peace in the middle isn’t loud, it’s anchored! It’s the ability to sleep through the night, not because your situation changed, but because you stopped carrying it alone!

And when peace is rooted in God, it not only guards your heart, but it governs your choices! Colossians 3:15 urges us, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” That word rule means to act as an umpire or decision-maker. In other words, let peace be the final word; let it guide your responses, not your emotions! When peace rules, you don’t rush, you rest.! You don’t react, you respond with wisdom! Peace reminds you that the battle isn’t yours, it’s the Lord’s! Peace is not the absence of trouble; it’s the Presence of the Prince of Peace. It is the evidence that the Holy Spirit is alive and working within you. It testifies that your life is built on something deeper than success, safety, or clarity; it’s built on the Rock! When peace lives in the center of your chaos, it speaks louder than any storm. And because Jesus lives in you, that peace is not just available; it is alive. Peace is your inheritance as a child of God. You are not at the mercy of your environment. You are anchored in eternal truth. Keep your eyes on the One who never fails, and you’ll find that perfect peace is not far; it’s already yours. Protect it! Declare it! Dwell in it!

Let’s Pray:
Thank You Father! Thank You for being my Prince of Peace. Father, as I quiet myself down before You now, I am aware that while the world around me may be noisy, You offer me peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank You for Your Word, which reminds me that perfect peace is not only possible for me, but it’s available to me when I keep my mind stayed on You. Lord, I admit that distractions, doubts, and delays try to pull me away, but today I choose to refocus and return my thoughts to You. Help me not to search for peace in external things, but to lean into Your Presence, the true source of rest for my soul. Father, teach me how to guard my peace and recognize when I’ve let anxiety take a seat in my heart. Fill the spaces of my mind where fear has tried to live. Speak peace to the storms I can’t control and bring order to every area of inner chaos. Holy Spirit, train me to respond to pressure with prayer, to replace panic with praise, and to pursue Your Word when worry creeps in. Let the peace of Christ rule in my heart like an anchor in deep waters, firm, unmoved, and secure. Make me a carrier of Your peace in my home, my work, my ministry and in all of relationships. And Father, even when I don’t have answers, let me rest in the assurance that You do. Even when things feel unsettled, remind me that You are not. You are steady, constant, and in control. So I surrender every thought, every fear, and every burden into Your capable hands. Let peace rise within me like a holy river, washing away every doubt and making room for renewed faith. I receive Your peace. I choose to stay in it. I declare that I will not be shaken, because You are with me. You are my peace in the middle. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I pray.  Amen!

Good Morning Sunshine! Walk In Peace Today!

Ephesians 6:15 KJV ~ “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”

It’s nothing like a great pair of shoes! Ones that you can wear all day, and they don’t make your feet hurt or tired! That’s what you get when you shod your feet with the Gospel of Peace!

The shoes of peace are the peaceful part of your spiritual armor, they will give you the stability that you need to stand upright and firm! When peace is in place in your life, it gives you the full assurance of how you should step out in faith and make the moves that God is leading you to make. But first, before you take any steps, you need to make sure His peace is operating in your life!

Every day, when you get dressed, you are to put on two outfits, your clothes and your armor, you should never leave home without either one. You would never leave home without your shoes on, how much more important is your spiritual shoes, they are the covering for your natural shoes, you can’t have one without the other!

I know that you are very mindful of what kind of shoes you buy and wear, because the wrong shoe can make you very uncomfortable and you will pull them off and kick them to the side! You feel better barefoot than with those shoes on!  So, if your natural shoes are that important then your spiritual shoes should be 10 times more important!

Covering your feet with the peace of God is your strength and power, it is one of the most powerful pieces of your spiritual weaponry and it is essential because, without it your shoes (covering) you become unstable and unable to walk, which can cause the enemy try and distract, so that you won’t be able to move! If the enemy can get you still, he will try to kill you!

But, say “But”, with that conquering peace firmly tied to your heart, mind, emotions, and will, you will be empowered to keep marching ahead, impervious to the devil’s attempts to take you down! When the peace of God is in place in your life, you are positioned and protected from the assaults and you are able to stand fixed and firm on your foundation no matter the person or occasion, the Peace of God is in control!

Let’s Pray:
Today, Lord, I thank You for Your peace, I’m grateful for You covering me with Your peace, Lord I need Your peace 24/7, for Your peace shields me, protects me, fortifies me and makes me strong! Lord it’s Your Peace, Perfect Peace that covers me, keeps me, sustains me and protects me from everything! Lord Thank You for releasing Your divine peace over me! Today, Your Peace is operating in me, and I will not be easily moved, shaken, or scared because You are all around me and everything that concerns me. I declare this Peace over my life and those that You put in my heart to pray for, I claim this peace by my faith in Jesus Christ Mighty Name! Amen!!!

Good Morning Well One!

Philippians 4:6-7 AMP ~ “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. [7] And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].”

As I re-read the devotional from yesterday, I thought about how often we worry about stuff, even after we said that we have put it in the Hands of God, it’s still in the back of our minds! God has told us to not worry, He Got you all day long! Matthew 6:31-34, “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (NIV)

You have a choice, you can worry, or you can wait, and wait well by resting in the Arms of Jesus! When you are resting in the knowledge of what the Lord has done, you are resting well and letting God handle the rest! I mean what is it to worry anyway, it’s a place where you have allowed your mind to dwell on what you are going through or what you think that you might go through! Yea, I know that your concerns may be real, you feel like day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute that this or that is going on and everything is in pieces? But I want you to know that you have a choice whether or not to dwell on the pieces or give them up to God!

Did you really read and get an understanding of the first line of this scripture, “don’t be anxious for anything, but take everything to God in prayer.” It’s in your time of prayer that you thank Him, and you give Him all your request and then you wait in Him and His peace will allow you to wait and wait well! The question is do you want to be in Peace or pieces? Today, release your pieces to the One who can give you Peace! When you release your pieces into the Hands of the Master, He gives you Peace!  (Judges 6:24)

In doing this, it keeps you from being anxious and it gives you something else to do, it keeps your head and heart busy, and it keeps your hands still and steady in prayer, Psalm 37:7a, “Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act.” The bottom line is this, you can pray! Learning how to wait in God takes discipline, you have to be disciplined to be still and to stand firm, (put your armor on, Ephesians 6:13) and the discipline of taking your concern to your Father, means that you will learn how to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)! As often and as necessary it is, it will change the work of worry into the work of rest!

I know it may seem hard to rest while you wait, but it can be done with the help of the good Lord! When you feel that anxiousness trying to rise up in you, turn to prayer, call on the Name of Jesus, it will remind you of what’s most important in that moment! The time that you wasted worrying did you no good at all! But the time you spent in prayer did much for you, spiritually, physically and emotionally! It’s all in the choice that you make, your choice to worry or to wait well and to have peace of mind. I hope and pray that today when you are faced with the option, that you choose to wait well, to wait in and on God!

It’s during your difficult times that your life can seem like it’s a bunch of puzzle pieces that you are trying to put together and you can’t seem to figure out what piece goes where! Just know that God, knows every single thing and He knows exactly where every piece goes, you don’t have to force any piece in a place that it doesn’t fit! God has insight for every word in every chapter of the story He’s writing about your life.

Start right where you are today; ask the Lord to help you release each piece that has been on your mind and to add to your story that has already been written by Him. He knows where each one of you are at and what you are dealing with. He wants you to receive His Perfect Peace! He is the eternal God who sees the end from the beginning and does nothing without purpose. Just know however God moves is still better than anything that you could do, trust Him with the outcome, He knows better than you!

You want to get well and stay well, put your faith, trust and hope in Jesus Christ, for He is the only One that can give you sweet rest while you wait, and He will give you His peace as a covering, Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” God knows you, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” Isaiah 46:10!

Let’s Pray:
Father Thank You, Thank You for another day! Father, help me to have patience and to not be anxious for anything. Help me to have discipline to wait in You and on You. Father, help me to learn how to wait well. Father help me know what to do and when to do it. Father I choose to rest in You and not work and worry about what I have no control over. Father I am giving everything over to you, for You can handle it better than me. Father I’m giving you my pieces today in exchange for Your peace! Father I will wait on You, and I have put all of my hopes and trust in You! Father, please put a guard over my lips today that I may not whine while I wait, but that I will wait and wait well for my expected outcome in You. In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Good Morning Sunshine! What’s On Your Feet?
