Luke 19:39-40 NIV~”Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.””
During the triumphal entry the disciples worshipped and praise Jesus as He rode on the donkey through Mount Olives shouting “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”” Luke 19:38 NIV! The Pharisees were very religious individuals and had a perception and a set of rules on how one should worship, who they should worship, and when they should worship. Not knowing that they were in the presence of the King of Kings who is worthy of our praise, wanted Him to silence the worshippers.
In today’s world, we have an active adversary who may present situations, and circumstances to silence the worshippers. After all he comes to steal, kill, and destroy(John 10:10). With that knowledge we should overlook his tactics and praise God in spite of. Do you have a “in spite” of? In spite of the diagnosis I’m going to worship God because He’s a healer, in spite of not having enough at the present moment, He’s a Provider, in spite of chaos all over the land, He’s Jehovah Shalom, the God of Peace. There are many reasons why one may think that you shouldn’t praise God, but there are plenty reasons why you should praise God and it’s simply because of Who He is. He’s a Good Merciful Loving Kind Father! Yes, I thank God for what He has done, extremely grateful for Who He is in my life! That’s enough to praise Him right now.
The Lord says, “In all things give thanks.” We have a reason to thank God. Reflect on what He has done for you.
Let’s Pray:
Almighty God, I thank You for this day that You have allowed me to enter into. I’m grateful for Your love and compassion towards me. Heavenly Father, with the fruit of my lips I praise Your glorious name. For You are worthy to be praised. You are exalted over every being, situation, and all circumstances. Today, I reflect on Who You are and will worship You in spite of this day. Thank You for Your continued love and mercy that is renewed daily. I won’t allow the stones to cry out in my place because I’m a free worshipper who will worship You all the days of my life. God, I love You and I thank You for looking past my faults and meeting my needs. Thank You, In Jesus Name Amen.
Blessings…
