Good Morning Attentive One!

Luke 10:38-42 NKJV ~ “Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” 41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Life can be busy! There is always something to do or somewhere to go/be or someone needing you! We have gotten so busy being busy, we are working and not serving! We get so caught up in the task that we forget about what’s really important. We have not stopped to make time for The One who gives us time! (Psalm 90:2, before a mountain was formed God was there). Today, what’s the most important thing that you need to spend time doing? Spending time with God should be your first choice! You need to always make time for God, after all it is His time that you are using!

There is a word that we all like to say, “Yes”, we say yes sometimes without even knowing or hearing the whole thing! Yes, I can do it! Yes, I can do that! And then you stop and wonder do you have time to do everything that you said yes too! Now you are shuffling things around to make up time for all of your yeses! But did you say yes to God first?  Then why does He get the least amount of your time? Be mindful of what you say yes too! Don’t let your plans and others plans for you distract you from God’s purpose! Here’s a question for you, are you pursuing plans or are you pursuing God’s purpose? You should have one purpose and that is to have Jesus! To spend time with Jesus and to tell someone else about Jesus! Your purpose is more than who you are or what you have, Jesus wants you to want Him like He wants you! God doesn’t need us but He so wants us, we need Him and most of the time we don’t want Him!

Every day you plan out what you are going to do and how much time it’s going to take! I know that you have heard this saying and you yourself may have even said it before, “You need to work smarter not harder”’ the key is to become smarter at how you do a thing and where you can cut things and time from the process. But if your plan does not start with you sitting at His feet, then you have already missed the smart part! It’s at His feet that you will get instructions on how and what you are to do, this is where your true purpose lives!

Now today, stop focusing on things and time and focus on Him!  You will never figure out your purpose if you are trying to do life without the One that gave you life! This is only found in Jesus! Jesus Christ came to this earth and wrapped Himself in flesh to die and to be raised up, that you can have the time that you have right now! (John 1:14 NKJV And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.) It’s all about Jesus Christ! So go ahead and do the work, but before you do any of that, sit quietly alone. Separate yourself from everything and spend some time having a talk with Jesus! Learn to seek Him first so that you don’t risk missing out on the time you could have been spending with Him and learning about His beautiful Kingdom! (Matthew 6:33)!

Spending time with God is a requirement and your responsibility! Choose wisely!

Let’s Pray:
Thank You Father, for one more day!  Father, forgive me for the times that I followed the path of distractions. Father today, I choose to walk in the purpose that You designed me for! Father align all of my desires with Your desires, I don’t want to have a separate agenda or assignment away from You! Father, I know there may be a lot going on today, but nothing is as important to me as spending time in Your Presence, Father keep me focused and alert as I sit at Your feet awaiting on my instructions for the day. Father, help me to complete each task in a timely manner and to be effective and efficient. Father, I’m going to praise You for what You have done and for what You have allowed me to accomplish through You! Father, keep me in remembrance of this one thing, Your Word, and that if I want to be the change I must start with me sitting at Your feet. Father, today I will drop worrying, fear and anxieties, there is no to-do list or plans that will keep me from spending time with You. In Jesus Christ Name. Amen!

Blessings…
Minister Jean
