Good Morning Sunshine! Turn The Page And Keep Moving Forward!

Philippians 3:12-16 ERV ~ “I don’t mean that I am exactly what God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal. But I continue trying to reach it and make it mine. That’s what Christ Jesus wants me to do. It is the reason he made me his. [13] Brothers and sisters, I know that I still have a long way to go. But there is one thing I do: I forget what is in the past and try as hard as I can to reach the goal before me. [14] I keep running hard toward the finish line to get the prize that is mine because God has called me through Christ Jesus to life up there in heaven. [15] All of us who have grown to be spiritually mature should think this way too. And if there is any of this that you don’t agree with, God will make it clear to you. [16] But we should continue following the truth we already have.”

Have you ever read something, and you had to re-read, and re-read again, it’s like you were perpetually stuck on this last page and you can’t go forward? What is it that’s keeping you from turning the page? Were you distracted, discouraged, or did you just disconnect? Was it something bad, sad or was it exciting and good and you just want to keep living in this moment, this place of contentment? Let me let you in on a little thing, that’s not possible, you have to move on! It’s time to turn the page!

God has not brought you this far to leave you where you’re at! You can’t keep taking 2 steps forward, only to take 4 steps backwards! You cannot live in what was or what use to be and expect to experience something better! You have to be in the Right Now! It’s in the right now with God that you will have an encounter with Him and experience the new.  God is the God of your past and He is the God of your present as well as your future! Only God knows what’s next in your life, so you are going to have to be in constant communication with Him to see what’s next!

Turn the page and watch what God does for you. He will bring you into alignment with Him on your journey and He will anoint you as you go forward from the past to the present! As you turn the page, God is equipping you for purpose and godly impact! Yes, I know turning the page means that you have to give up some hurts, habits, people, and stuff that you don’t like as well as what you do like, you can’t have that where God is taking you next! Let go, let God and turn the page!

So, no matter what paragraph you are re-reading right now, this I know, if you stay on this current page, you will never find out the rest of the story! You will never see all of what God has in store for you! The Apostle Paul refused to get stuck in his cold old past, instead he chose to step into a new future as a new man on a new trajectory! And this is where God is calling you to, to a new trajectory in life! The Apostle is letting you where he’s been, but he is also telling you that he’s not going to stay in that place. He says, “Dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I am focusing on this ONE THING, I’m going to forget my past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I am going to press on to reach the end of my race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling me for.”

This is how you turn the page! Yes, I know that your previous chapters were good, you learned how to navigate and move through it, the good, the bad and the ugly, but that does not matter, you have to keep pressing forward! Paul turned the page from a life of sin and pride, and he stepped forward into a future that forever shaped the history of our faith. You too can turn the page from your sin, shame, and pride by inviting God in to reveal His purposes and plan for your life and then letting Him have His Way, for it is “Thy Will Be Done!”

What is in your new chapter, the next page? In order to see it, you have to turn the page! You have to let go of the old! You have to embrace the new! God is saying in His Word that you just read, forget about the past (because whatever it was, you can’t change it or undo it, it’s done) and look forward to what lies ahead of you and not to allow your past to make you fearful of the new opportunities in your present and the great possibilities that await you in your future!

There are 46 days left in this year, and someone who is your age is not here today, and somebody won’t make it out of 2024 into 2025, (that could be you or me, we don’t know, but you better be ready when He comes!) Today is a great day to get this in your spirit, let go of what was and embrace what is happening in your life right now!

Be the change that you want to see, move pass your past, live in your present and have hope in your future that God has put in place for you from the beginning of time, for your Right Now! Let go and receive everything that He has for you, for it’s in the new chapter, the next page that it will begin! Turn the page!

Let’s Pray:
Father Thank You! I thank You for the gift of this day and the chance for a new opportunity to turn the page and to connect with You in prayer. As I open my heart to You, I am reminded of Your Word, forgetting about my past (yesterday) and moving towards today my present and to press on toward the goal you have set before me and to keep my focus on You as I go! Father, grant me the strength and perseverance to keep moving even when I want to stay where I am, for I know that I cannot grow where I’m at, I have to turn the page, and I cannot do it without You and Your help. Father, I know that I am not perfect, I have made mistakes and fallen short of your glory, Father, Thank You for forgiving my shortcomings, I am grateful that Your Mercy and Grace is boundless. Father, Thank You for the righteousness that comes through having faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ, this is a gift that I cherish and hold dear to my heart. Father, I surrender my fears of turning to the next page to you, for I am assured of this One Thing, that You hold everything in your hands that concern me and that You have me, and You won’t let me fall! Father, help me to keep my eyes on You as I turn the page and to eagerly await the day when I will be with You in Glory! In the Name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Blessings…
Love, Minister Jean
