Part 2 ~ The Warrior Within! You Are Called To Suit Up, From Intercessor To Warrior!

Last week, you learned how to stand in the gap. You learned how to carry burdens, how to travail in prayer, and how to remain when it would have been easier to walk away. You were shaped into an intercessor, one who partners with heaven and responds to the heart of God.

But this week, you are not just standing, you are suiting up. Because every true intercessor must become a warrior.

The same place where you prayed is now the place where you must fight. The same sensitivity that allowed you to discern God’s heart must now allow you to discern the enemy’s tactics. You are not stepping into fear, you are stepping into awareness. You are not becoming aggressive in the flesh; you are becoming equipped in the Spirit.

Scripture warns in 2 Peter 2:1 that false teachers will arise, bringing deception and distortion. This is why you cannot afford to be passive. You must be alert. You must be grounded. You must be discerning. Because not everything that sounds spiritual is from God.

There is a call in this hour for prophets and intercessors who can rightly discern both the moving of the Lord and the movement of the enemy. Those who will not only hear God but also recognize infiltration. Those who will not only pray but also stand guard. You are being called to become a warrior. And this is not about titles; it is about function. It is about understanding that spiritual warfare is real, it is biblical, and it is necessary. Ephesians 6:12 reminds you that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual forces of wickedness. That means your battle is not natural, it is spiritual.

This battle is spiritual; so your preparation must also be spiritual. You must learn how to dress. You must learn how to stay alert. You must learn how to not be naïve. You must learn how to war. This is the week where you move from awareness to action.

The church is under attack, not because God is weak, but because the enemy is desperate. You can see it everywhere, confusion rising, truth being diluted, leaders falling, churches closing, and believers becoming weary. Darkness is not hiding, it is raging.

But this is not the time to retreat. This is the time to rise. Just as Elijah stood on Mount Carmel (see 1 Kings 18:17–39), confronting false prophets and tearing down deception, you are being called to confront what is trying to infiltrate your life, your family, your ministry, and your environment.

You cannot separate the prophetic from warfare. You cannot separate intercession from battle. Every prayer you prayed last week was preparation for the fight you step into this week. Because now you understand, you are not just praying from a place of peace, you are enforcing peace through prayer. So, suit up. Because this week, you are not just an intercessor…you are a warrior.

Good Morning Sunshine! You Are Called to Suit Up and Be Covered for the Battle!

Ephesians 6:11 (NIV) ~ “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

In Ephesians 6, the Apostle Paul is writing to believers while imprisoned, yet his message is not one of defeat, it is one of preparation and strength. He is closing out his letter by reminding the church that although they are saved, called, and chosen, they are also engaged in spiritual warfare. Paul uses the imagery of a Roman soldier, something familiar in his environment; to illustrate how believers must be fully equipped to stand. He emphasizes that the battle is not against people, but against spiritual forces, and because of that, natural strength will never be enough. This passage is not about fear, it is about readiness. It is about understanding that God has already provided everything you need, but it is your responsibility to put it on.

How do you get dressed in the morning? You don’t walk out of your house without intentionally choosing what you will wear. You consider the day ahead, the environment you’re stepping into, and what is appropriate for where you’re going. You take time to cover yourself, not randomly, but with purpose. In the same way, your spiritual life requires intentional dressing. You cannot step into a spiritual day uncovered and expect to stand in a spiritual battle.

The instruction to “put on” the armor is not a suggestion; it is a command. The Apostle Paul wrote this while imprisoned, surrounded by Roman soldiers, which means the imagery he used was intentional. He observed how a soldier never stepped into position uncovered, never entered battle unprepared, and never assumed safety without armor. In the same way, God is showing you that spiritual readiness is not optional, it is necessary.

Paul is speaking to believers who were already saved, already called, and already walking with God. Yet even they needed to be reminded to put on the armor. This means your salvation does not exempt you from battle, it equips you for it. The armor is not about becoming something new; it is about covering what has already been given to you through Christ.

When Paul says “stand against the devil’s schemes,” he is revealing that the enemy is strategic. The word “schemes” implies plans, tactics, and calculated attacks. The enemy studies patterns, looks for openings, and attempts to exploit weaknesses. This is why you cannot be passive; you must be prepared.

The armor of God is not physical, it is spiritual. You are not fighting people; you are fighting influences, attacks, and unseen forces. This is why natural strength is not enough. You must be clothed in something greater than yourself.

The belt of truth is what holds everything together. Without truth, everything else becomes unstable. Truth anchors you when deception tries to confuse you. Truth reminds you of who God is and who you are, even when circumstances say otherwise.

The breastplate of righteousness guards your heart. The enemy often targets your identity, your worth, and your sense of belonging. But righteousness reminds you that you are covered, that you are accepted, and that you are positioned in right standing with God.

The helmet of salvation protects your mind. Many battles are fought in your thoughts before they ever show up in your life. The enemy will try to plant doubt, fear, and confusion, but salvation reminds you that your mind belongs to Christ and is being renewed daily.

The shield of faith is what you use to block what is coming against you. It does not stop attacks from coming, but it stops them from penetrating. Faith allows you to stand firm even when arrows are flying.

The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. This is your only offensive weapon. Jesus Himself used the Word when He was tempted in the wilderness. When the enemy speaks, you respond with truth. When lies come, you answer with the Word.

Your feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. This means no matter what is happening around you, you are grounded. You are not easily shaken. You are steady because you are standing on peace.

Putting on the armor is not a one-time event; it is a daily decision. Every morning, just like you choose your natural clothes, you must choose your spiritual covering. You choose truth. You choose righteousness. You choose faith. You choose peace. You choose the Word. This is how you stay dressed.

You are not dressing for appearance; you are dressing for battle. You are preparing for what you may not see, but what is very real. And when you are fully clothed, you are able to stand, not in your strength, but in His.

There are moments when you may feel like you are strong enough without intentionally “putting on” the armor, but those are the moments where vulnerability quietly creeps in. Spiritual neglect often happens in subtle ways, skipping time with God, ignoring conviction, or overlooking small compromises. But the armor protects you from the slow drift that leads to bigger battles. Dressing daily keeps you anchored.

You must also understand that every piece of armor works together. You cannot operate in faith without truth. You cannot walk in peace without righteousness. You cannot use the Word effectively if your mind is unguarded. This is a full armor, not partial coverage. God is calling you to be completely equipped, not selectively protected.

There will be days when you feel the weight of the battle more than others. On those days, your armor becomes your reminder. It reminds you that you are not exposed. It reminds you that you are not defenseless. It reminds you that you are not alone. You are covered, protected, and equipped for everything you will face.

As you continue to mature, you will begin to “put on” the armor without even thinking about it. It will become your posture. Truth will be your first response. Faith will be your instinct. Peace will be your foundation. The Word will be your language. This is what it means to live dressed.

The enemy often looks for consistency gaps, moments where you are dressed one day but not the next. But when you make this a lifestyle, you remove those gaps. You close those doors. You become steady, reliable, and covered at all times.

Dressing is also an act of surrender. You are acknowledging that you cannot fight in your own strength. You are choosing God’s provision over your own ability. You are saying, “Lord, I need what You have given me in order to stand.” And as you continue to dress daily, you will notice something shifting. You will feel stronger, more aware, and more grounded. Not because the battle has stopped, but because you are now equipped to face it.

You will also begin to recognize that getting dressed spiritually must happen before the day begins, not after the battle starts. Too many try to reach for the armor once the pressure hits, but preparation is what gives you power. When you start your day covered, you walk into situations already ready, already steady, already equipped.

There will be moments when the enemy tries to convince you that it doesn’t matter if you skip this step, that you can handle the day on your own. But that is the very moment you must be intentional. Because what you neglect in private will show up in public. Stay disciplined. Stay dressed.

And as you continue, you will begin to carry an authority that is quiet but undeniable. You will not have to strive, you will stand. You will not have to force, you will flow. Because when you are fully dressed, you are fully prepared for whatever comes your way.

Let’s Pray:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You with humility and awareness that I cannot face this day uncovered. I thank You for providing everything I need to stand, and I acknowledge that my strength comes from You alone. I lay aside every ounce of self-reliance and choose complete dependence on You. Lord, today I make a conscious and intentional decision to put on the full armor. I will not move casually into this day, but I will step into it covered, prepared, and aligned with Your will for my life. Let my posture reflect readiness and let my spirit remain anchored in You. I put on the belt of truth. Let truth surround me, stabilize me, and guide every decision I make. Let every lie be exposed, every deception be broken, and every false thought be replaced with Your truth. Let truth become my filter, my foundation, and my response. I put on the breastplate of righteousness. Guard my heart, Father. Protect my emotions, my desires, and my identity. Let nothing penetrate what You have already made whole and secure in You. Remind me that I am covered, chosen, and established in Your righteousness. I put on the helmet of salvation. Cover my mind and renew my thinking. Let my thoughts reflect Your Word. Silence every voice that is not from You, and bring my mind into complete alignment with Your truth. Let peace rule in my mind, and clarity guide my thinking. I lift up the shield of faith. Strengthen my faith so that I can stand firm in every situation. Let every attack of fear, doubt, and discouragement be blocked before it ever reaches me. Increase my confidence in You so that I trust You even when I cannot see the outcome. I take up the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. Teach me how to use it with boldness and authority. Let Your Word be alive in me, flowing through me, and guiding every response I make. When the enemy speaks, let Your Word rise up within me as my defense and my declaration. I put on the shoes of peace. Let me walk through this day steady, unshaken, and grounded. No matter what arises, let peace lead me and keep me anchored in You. Let my steps be ordered and let my foundation remain firm in Your Presence. Father, help me to be consistent in this. Do not let me grow careless or complacent. Keep me disciplined in my time with You, aware of my need for You, and intentional in staying covered. Let this not be a one-time act, but a daily lifestyle of surrender and preparation. Lord, remind me that I am not fighting alone. You are with me in every moment. You are strengthening me, covering me, and guiding me. When I feel weak, remind me that You are strong. When I feel uncertain, remind me that You are sure. Teach my hands to war and my fingers to battle. Show me how to fight in the spirit with wisdom, discernment, and authority. Let me not shrink back but stand boldly in the power You have given me. Train me through every experience so that I grow stronger in You. Father, prepare me before the battle even begins. Let me wake up ready, walk through my day covered, and rest knowing that I am protected by You. Let preparation become my habit and readiness become my lifestyle. Lord, expose every hidden attack before it manifests. Give me discernment to recognize what is not from You. Let me not be naïve, but alert and aware, walking in wisdom and guided by Your Spirit. Father, strengthen my inner man so that I do not grow weary. When pressure rises, let endurance rise within me. When opposition comes, let faith stand firm. When challenges appear, let Your Word sustain me. Let my life reflect that I am covered. Let my words, my actions, and my responses show that I am dressed in Your armor. Let others see Your strength through me and Your peace within me. Father I thank You, Father, that I am dressed, equipped, and prepared. I declare that I will stand strong, remain steady, and walk in victory through You. No matter what comes my way, I am covered, I am protected, and I am positioned to win. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.

Nugget ~ Preparation in private is what gives you power in public. What you put on before anyone sees you determines how you stand when everything is seen. If you dress in truth, you won’t fall for lies. If you cover your heart in righteousness, you won’t be easily shaken. If your mind is guarded, your life will be guided. And when you consistently suit up in the Spirit, you don’t just survive the battle, you stand with authority, confidence, and victory already established!

Blessing…

Love, Dr. Jean…
